Zune is definitely worth it
I bought the Zune 80GB primarily for listening to MP3 while on the move.
Also bought it secondarily for some of the well known features like bigger screen, A/V out capability, zune - zune and also wireless sync.
Zune is great in coming thru on the primarily functions MP3 playback is good.
Its a great way to store family pictures and displaying them.
Getting the Zune device setup to your personal liking/taste is a major task.
Some problems are primarily due to our personal preferences, but some are genuine software defects.
Zune software has major problems installing on XP professional, XP home is simple and works well.
I probably spent over 6-8 days, spending 4-5 hours each day, getting my mid sized collection(6-7GB) organized and loaded and synced up. Sometimes redoing tasks due to learning curve and preferences and software defects.
People are well advised to get acquainted with the Zune software.
I am yet to find suitably priced and quality accessories for Zune device.
Though I was already aware of this, but it definitely a major issue.
Mostly retailers have tons of iPod accessories, but Zune is few and far between.
Mostly you may want to invest in a good Case, quality FM transmitter and also some accessories for charging (USB charging gets tough pretty quickly).
The earbuds may take a while to get used to begin with, but its not that bad. magnets help keep the two pieces together.
Zune may not be perfect but is definitely a great product.
problems right away
I will need to request a replacement. The ZUNE will not play the music, it reds "Hook up to a computer". The ZUNE was a gift for my son who is in the military, he doesn't have access to a computer.? Not sure why is it now saying this after working for about 2 weeks.
It is not convienant for him as he is in training right now. What to do???
