Excellent Frame
I am very please with this frame. The color and clarity of the screen is the best I have seen, remote is easy to use. Couldn't be happier.

Arrived broken
The first one arrived broken and the replacement also arrived broken. the funny thing was the second one had a hole in the original manufactures box but no hole in the UPS box. This leads me to believe it was knowingly damage when it was shipped.

very nice, but a few trivial things to be desired
I think this is a great digital picture frame. If you want my advice, if the price is still competitive, go get it, you'll like it. The rest is nit-picky: but that is why you read reviews is it not? Here is my best information: What I like: the picture is pretty nice. It is very bright and can get bright enough to saturate, so there is plenty of range available. The same can be said of the contrast. The picture quality is very good, however, it is not 'excellent' as the resolution could be better. dont get me wrong: the resolution is good, it just could be better. If you are searching for the best resolution no matter what the cost; you must continue to look elsewhere. however, for the cost of a better frame than this you will likely pay dearly. this frame provides a cost/performance ratio which is unmatched. It looks great too: some other frames look very cheesy (to me) but this has a basic natural wood frame that looks like the other frames on the average wall. If you have a swedish motiv house designed by Bang & Olafson then this frame will clash. If the previous sentence is swedish to you, then you'll probably like this frames' style on your wall too, as I do. It works! I've read ALL of the complaints about this frame, and either the company has worked the problems out or I got lucky. Everything works fine, I DO NOT NEED TO RESIZE MY PHOTOS !! I have both HUGE and small photos on my card but they all play just fine, no snags, no re-booting, nothing, it plays for hours. No problems like those mentioned in earlier reviews. None. What I dont like: OK, I mentioned the resolution is not as good as it might be, but it is not poor either, its in the middle. Also, there is an option to rotate images so they always appear right-side up...that is if your frame is mounted on the wall so the long-axis is horizontal. Mine is mounted with the long axis vertically and there is no option to get all the images to rotate to display correctly for that frame orientation: next software revision guys... Also, the power plug: its a bit too big. If you use the supplied stand which plugs into the back of the frame to have a free-standing frame with the long-axis in horizontal position (as in the picture advertised), then the plug on the bottom is too big and prevents the frame from sitting flat and level. The frame has to be on the wall or it wont sit flat. the plug is too big. Its hard to explain, you'll see what I mean when you get the frame. Also, a black power cord...common guys, how many people have black walls? Next time: WHITE CORD to match/blend-in with white walls. Also, the pictures are always played in alphabetical order, not the order you load them onto the card with. Your alternative is to play them 'randomly' which is good, but if you have pictures in a show you want played sequentially, then I guess you need to name them correctly. Another software issue, nothing to do with the frame itself. I have to say I REALLY LIKE that the frame is in the same ratio as my digital camera! It makes sense! This feautre is ultimately why I bought this frame. There is no cropping! The whole photo is there. I like that feature very much.

This product works if you don't have too many photos to run a slideshow.
I'm having trouble to display all photos in my 256MB SD. While play music and run a slideshow simultaneously, it only display about 300+ photos then jump back to the first photo and display again even though I have total about 1400+ pictures in the SD card. The tech support can not help me to resolve this problem. I did a replacement to change a different frame but same problem happen. So I have to return it. Too bad. The frame looks really nice and elegant but it can't function what I ask for.

Terrific screen, no bugs, just works really well...
My mom bought these screens for each of us (6) kids, and we're all happy fans of this very bright, crisp screen. I'd never heard of this company before, and would not ordinarily buy from "Portable USA" especially when the price isn't significantly lower than those from Sharp, Kodak, etc. But the setup was phenominally easy (plug it in and insert SD card), and the photos show up as crisp as you could want. It's a wonder to stand for embarrasingly long periods of time and watch the photos float by.

Great improvement over prior model
Great looking pictures, very smooth and from any reasonable distance (i.e., at least couple feet away) looks like a real photo. tricked a few folks in my office (about 1/2), who all thought it was a real photo on display. Light years ahead of the quality of the prior kodak 10inch model (which had comparably worse ability to display blacks and contrast from darks to lights). highly recommend. intuitive interface.

Kodak EasyShare M1020 is an amazing piece of equipment!
Straight out of the box, this frame gave remarkable results. Inserted an SD card, turned it on, and presto, my photos never looked better. The touch frame is extremely easy to use, and very intuitive! Never looked at the manual, which turns out to be a good thing, since it leaves a lot to be desired. Checked it to see what "Shuffle" on or off did (never did find out) and how to get random picture display, which it apparently doesn't do - thus 4 stars. But for bright, sharp pictures with a wide viewing angle, it beats any thing else I've looked at. Going to purchase an EasyShare M820 for the kitchen, and two more EasyShare M1020's for my daughter and sister-in law!
Added note: From Kodak web site - "Shuffle" plays pictures in random order!!! Changing rating to 5 stars

complete disapointment
Philips 7FF3FP
This is a first ever picture frame I bought and Pixel quality has given me complete disappointment. This picture frame only give 480x3(RGB) x 234 pixels, which is really not pretty at all. In Short I will be returning this picture frame first thing in my to do list.

Awful
I've bought digital photo frames before - even ones from Philips.
I got this one for my mom for Mother's Day, and it is a huge disappointment.
Here's why:
1. The screen is 16:9. It doesn't automatically "letterbox" 4:3 pictures though - instead, most of them come out looking skewed. You have to do a lot of manipulation of the pictures to make sure they "work" before you can load them to the frame.
2. You can't access the frame's internal memory through USB (at least not on Win XP). It doesn't show up. See, the frame acts as a reader for the two memory card slots. They show up, but the frame's internal memory doesn't. This means in order to load pictures, you have to copy them to a card, stick the card in, and then either leave the card in or use the menus to copy the pictures into the frame, which brings me to...
3. The menus don't have "bulk" options. You can't say "copy all of the pictures from the card to the internal memory" - it simply isn't an option. You also can't delete all pictures in one shot. Basically you can't do anything in one shot.
4. If that wasn't enough to make the internal memory completely useless, this settles it: There's a Philips ad with a baby's face in the internal memory that you simply cannot delete. When you try, it says "Operation fail!![sic]". I called their support line, and the person, while nice, was utterly unable to help me delete the picture. So, unless you like long tedious times copying pictures and an occasional Philips ad in your slideshow, you can't use the internal memory at all.
5. The display looks pixelated in a lot of pictures. Much moreso than other frames I've used.

If this hadn't been for Mother's Day and Mother's Day wasn't so close, I would be returning this immediately and getting something else. As is, I'll see how mom feels about it. It's definitely the last Philips frame I'll buy.

Phillips 7 inch LCD Photo Frame - Nice Middle of the Road Frame
If you're like me, the thought of a $150 digital photo frame is simply over the top. The cost of these guys hasn't really come down too much in general. That was the main reason it took me so long to pull the trigger on one of these. The Philips 7-Inch LCD Digital Photo Frame (Black) hit enough of my key needs to be worth the cash for me.

- Pictures must be JPEG and work best when in 16:9 format
- Competing alternatives from Sony natively support other image formats (RAW, TIFF, BMP)

- The list price is a bit much; the prevailing price is also on the high side
- You should only be looking to get this on sale
- Phillips quality control has been declining the last few years; definitely test this within your return period
- Many newer alternatives coming to market which use less power than LCD

The frame is listed at a display ratio of 16:9. This works fine with most standard camera formats, including my Nikon and almost all handheld Canon models. Those with wide-format digital cameras are spared the extra step of reformatting.

Frame comes with a quick reference manual and Windows and Mac software on the included CD. CD also contains Windows compatible picture manager software. For a full PDF manual you will have to go to the website. There's some kind of menu driven help manual on the CD as well.
But the truth is you don't need a manual really. The built-in menu is really well designed. Not all the settings are on the first screen, but with some searching you can set up almost everything you need.

The optional clock display is another nice extra that makes this frame versatile. This somewhat makes up for the lack of MP3 playback.

The frame also has automatic orientation detection as an option, which rotates pictures from portrait to landscape. There are also collage and thumbnail view options.

This guy doesn't have the native image format support of some of the newer (and more expensive) frames from Sony. And I'm very nervous about Phillips spotty quality record of late. So far so good. But definitely put this through the paces before your return period expires.

Overall this is a good product at a price I can accept for now. Hopefully this will come down over time.

This unit is worth a look. This is at least a 3 star item, but the extra features bumps it just enough to hit 4 stars for me. Test it very well to make sure you don't have a dud.

Very Good Product
I bought this product for my friends birthday. She is in love with pictures and loves this frame! Great picture resolution (not blurry), beautiful frame looks very professional, overall a great frame.
The only things I noticed that were somewhat annoying and bad about this product are: it always has to be plugged in and in the bottom right corner there are the numbers to see how long you have charged it for. This takes away from the picture and does not look good.
This frame is not touch screen and that is also another annoying feature.
Good frame I would recommend it.

Can you specify the rate that the Slideshow Sequential uses? If so, what are the rate settings?

Great Product!
This digital frame is very easy to use and the picture on is great. Pictures are always clear and sized appropriately. I highly recommend this frame.
